Diploma in Social work consists of various competencies that a person must achieve to be Social Worker.
Social work and community development level 6 involves managing community resources, conducting community empowerment, coordinating community project, conducting community awareness training and sensitization, carrying out advocacy and lobbying activities, carrying out crisis and disaster management, coordinating conflict resolution and management, performing home based care and support ,coordinating rehabilitation programmes, carrying out child welfare programmes, conducting case management and manage community-based groups
Social work and community development level 6 qualification comprises various units of learning, which include the following; seven basic, four common, twelve core units of learning, an industrial training institution for a period of 12 weeks as a prerequisite for completion of this training course. The duration for this course is 24 months.
On successful completion of all units of learning, a trainee will be awarded a Diploma in social work and Community development level 6 issued by TVET CDACC in conjunction with Kenya School for Integrated Medicine.
